About Desert Lotus Altars®
Pamela pictured at Zen Mountain gallery in Jerome, AZ with a new family of Lotus Altars.
These unique works fall into a category between reproduction and original art which keeps them very affordable, while simultaneously no two pieces are the same.
Archival quality giclées are mounted on gold, silver or copper leafed pine, the individual glyphs are molded, carved and painted in multiple layers until the artist senses completion.
Encompassing a cowboy-zen sensibility, the focal lotus represents far east tradition and idealogy, while the excavated metallic border reminds us of old US southwestern tin or copper work. The culmination is original yet anciently iconic while holding a prominent point of reflection and intention within a space, thus being called, an Altar.
Every one of these Altars is individually hand crafted and special color combinations are chosen during the creation of each piece. Each Altar is singularly unique. No two are the same.
